We are thrilled to announce our sponsorship of the highly anticipated 2023 Qld Blind and Low Vision Open golf tournament.

Organised by the Blind Golf Queensland, an esteemed community-based blind golf club affiliated with World Blind Golf, this remarkable event is set to unfold on 27-28 July 2023 at the prestigious Parkwood Golf Course. There will also be a come and try day held in the lead up to this event at the Brisbane Golf Club on the 26 July.

The 2023 Qld Blind and Low Vision Open golf tournament is set to be a memorable event, assembling blind and low vision golfers of all proficiency levels to compete, connect, and applaud the remarkable achievements of the blind golf community.

Blind golfers display outstanding skill and precision on the course, navigating the fairways and greens expertly using specialised techniques and heightened sensory perception to accurately measure distance, feel the terrain, and align their shots. This reflects their incredible capabilities and love for the game. This sport nurtures camaraderie, support, and community among its participants.

“We are thrilled to have First2Care as our sponsor for this year’s Qld Blind and Low Vision Open. Their dedication to supporting our blind golf community is commendable and perfectly aligns with our mission to provide opportunities for blind and low vision individuals to excel in the sport they love.” Renowned Queensland blind golfer, Mr Neil Herdegen

Dr Brad Carver, another renowned figure within the international blind golf community and current President of Blind Golf Queensland, expressed, “As our Major Sponsor, First2Care demonstrates their genuine understanding of the importance of inclusivity in sports. Their support will undoubtedly make a significant difference in the lives of blind and low vision golfers, providing them with a platform to showcase their talent and inspire others.”

While we love the gratitude coming our way, sponsoring sporting events like this is something we love to do as it means we can be more involved in our incredible community. Our goal as plan managers is not only to process your invoices, but also to show our commitment to enabling individuals with diverse abilities and to advocate for inclusivity and accessibility.

We hope that through this sponsorship we can establish a platform where blind golfers can exhibit their prowess, cultivate camaraderie, and inspire others.
